Volunteer Spotlight: Dave Janosko

Dave Janosko brings a lifetime of experience, dedication, and enthusiasm to the Buckeye Trail Association. A Trail Adopter in the Bedford Section, Dave recently expanded his involvement by joining the Crooked River Chapter leadership group and the BTA Finance Committee. We are excited to have him take on these leadership roles and look forward to benefiting from the knowledge and perspective he gained during a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years in finance and accounting.

Dave’s connection to the Buckeye Trail runs deep. An avid runner and hiker, he has completed the Buckeye Trail 50K an astounding 26 times - a testament to both his endurance and his love for Ohio’s State Trail. Among his most cherished outdoor experiences was hiking and jogging the entire 1,435-mile Buckeye Trail with his son between 2002 and 2008. Beginning when his son was just 10 years old, the journey created countless memories and a lasting connection to the trail that continues today.

Beyond the Buckeye Trail, Dave remains active in the outdoor community. He enjoys biking and running, holds leadership positions with the Northeast Running Club, and volunteers with Lake Metroparks, where he leads hikes through the Upper and Lower Gorge areas. Whether he’s maintaining trail, guiding hikers, supporting community organizations, or helping strengthen BTA’s financial future, Dave approaches every role with commitment and generosity.

We are grateful for Dave’s service and leadership and are thrilled to have him sharing his expertise with the Crooked River Chapter, the Finance Committee, and the Buckeye Trail Association as a whole. Thank you, Dave, for everything you do to support the trail and the community that surrounds it!
