A new Trail Town joins the Buckeye Trail network

The Village of Spencerville was officially dedicated as a Buckeye Trail Town on November 18, 2024. Local leaders, Buckeye Trail Association volunteers, and community members gathered to unveil the new Trail Town sign and celebrate Spencerville’s commitment to outdoor recreation, tourism, and trail stewardship.

Situated along the Defiance Section of the Buckeye Trail, Spencerville connects visitors to a mix of canal heritage, rural charm, and modern trail access. The designation recognizes the village’s efforts to welcome hikers, cyclists, and paddlers while promoting local businesses and green spaces.
