A new home for trailblazers: BTA’s office and visitor center

The Buckeye Trail Association is moving into a new Shawnee, Ohio home at 129 Main Street. The space will serve as a visitor center that celebrates the Buckeye Trail, Ohio’s longest trail, and as a volunteer hub that supports hiking, backpacking, and trail preservation across the state.

The Buckeye Trail Association is excited to provide an update on our office relocation efforts from 127B (the white building above) to 129 (the blue building above) in Shawnee, Ohio. Thanks to an anonymous donation to fund the effort and a heroic volunteer effort by Lori Luken and Phil Freeland on some final demolitions, we are moving into our next stage with a local contractor to finalize the renovations in 129.

With an expected move-in of Spring 2026, 129 Main Street will become a Visitor Center experience, showcasing a bit of Buckeye Trail History, as well as a Volunteer Resource Center, increasingly availability for our volunteers on and off the trail to come in, hang out, enjoy a cup of coffee, or join in on meetings. If you are interested in getting involved in the renovation efforts, please email volunteer@buckeyetrail.org.

If you would like to learn more about the project or receive updates, please email aidan.reagh@buckeyetrail.org.
