The Blue Blaze Society is the leadership giving circle of the Buckeye Trail Association (BTA), recognizing those who make the trail’s future part of their legacy. Named for the blue blazes that mark the trail, the Society honors donors, land stewards, and legacy givers whose generosity helps guide the path forward. Founded in 2015, the Blue Blaze Society plays a vital role in protecting and expanding Ohio’s longest trail—ensuring it endures for generations to come.

Our Blue Blazers

Membership in the Blue Blaze Society is extended to those who demonstrate significant and lasting support for the Buckeye Trail Association by meeting at least one of the following criteria. If you have questions about what qualifies, please email director@buckeyetrail.org or development@buckeyetrail.org.

Yearly partnership

  • An annual donation of $500 or more, counted for the calendar year after your gift
  • $500 in qualifying donations of goods or services budgeted by the BTA

A lifetime circle of supporters

  • A one-time gift of $5,000 or more (may include employer match)
  • A commitment to include the BTA in your estate plans
  • A permanent donation of land or trail easement valued at $5,000 or more
  • $5,000 in qualifying in-kind gifts of goods or services budgeted by the BTA

The Blue Blaze Society provides foundational support that allows the Buckeye Trail Association to dream bigger, act faster, and plan further into the future. Your leadership helps:

  • Sustain and grow the Greatest Needs Fund, supporting operations, staffing, and core programs.
  • Build the Trail Preservation Fund, enabling land conservation and permanent trail protection and access.
