Trailfest at Yellow Springs - April 27-30, 2017
Register for Buckeye TrailFest Today! Spring is coming! (officially, not just the weather). Are you registered for the largest gathering of BT Hikers, Members, Volunteers and Partners yet? Don't delay, join us in the Village Yellow Springs, Camp Birch, Glen Helen, John Bryan State Park, Clifton Gorge and Mill, Caesar Creek State Park, along the Little Miami River, and more! Don't miss out on reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones.
We have a host of day hikes, a backpack trip, and speakers confirmed including Stacey (Ironwill) Kozel and Tom Helbig is hiking into TrailFest on his BT thru-hike. Stacey thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2016. "I have always wanted to hike the AT but after becoming paralyzed in March 2014 I wasn't sure I would get the chance."

SCORP! - (Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan)
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is updating the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) and is asking for your opinion on outdoor recreation in Ohio. ODNR updates the SCORP every 5 years to be eligible to receive federal funding from the Land & Water Conservation Fund for parks, trails, picnic shelters, campgrounds and other outdoor recreation facilities throughout the state. The document guides grant funding guidelines but also helps park districts, regional planners and local municipalities in decision making related to outdoor recreation.
ODNR would like to hear from Buckeye Trail enthusiasts like you! Pass the link on to your friends and family and hiking buddies. They'd like to hear from as many people as possible (any Ohio resident - one per household - may take the survey).  Find the survey here until March 8, 2017: http://ohiostateparks.org/research
