It is official. The BT and NCT route from Yellow Springs to Springfield to Fairborn is being relocated. The new route will go from Yellow Springs directly to Fairborn. This will eliminate about 17 miles of trail and remove a very circuitous section. The hiker will no longer have to hike north from Yellow Springs to Springfield, turn around, and then hike south to Fairborn. The trail will now follow a more direct route.

I guess I should have look here yesterday or earlier today and found this new information, as I told a newspaper reporter this afternoon that the BT was 1,444 miles in length, when it is only 1,427 miles in length.
So does that make Ladybug go into the record books as the last person the thru-hike the longest length fo the BT?
