October 21, 2012- Walk with Nature- 1-4pm, St. Marys, Ohio

Enjoy a crisp fall day along the Miami and Erie Canal Towpath Trail as you walk from St. Marys Memorial Park in downtown St. Marys north to Glynwood Road (or to shorten waiting time, the other way around) and take a bus back to your starting location. 
Along with the hike you can enjoy the Fall Festival in Memorial Park, the pioneer encampment, car show, music, food, and entertainment.  These programs are free and fun for the whole family.

St. Marys Walk With Nature / Fall Festival   -  October 21, 2012 from noon to 5 PM, in downtown Memorial Park. The St. Marys Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, and Heritage Trails Park District  along with other community partners invites you to enjoy the 43rd Annual Walk with Nature on the Miami-Erie Canal Towpath and the Fall Festival in Memorial Park.

The Walk with Nature is a pleasant, level walk along the Towpath Trail and can begin or end at several points. Choose to walk 3.3 miles to as much as 10 miles.  Buses are available for transport to and from starting and stopping points. The Towpath extends north from St. Marys, Memorial Park to 40 acre pond and on to Lock 14.  Grand Lake Health Systems invites you to get on the Road to Fitness and earn 10 to 20  points for the GLHS Fitness Challenge. 

The Fall Festival in Memorial Park in downtown St. Marys will feature:  Entertainment at the Gazebo by Vernon McIntyre’s Appalachian Grass Band; Paula Schumm & other local favorites; Old Car Show with prizes; Re-enactors from the Civil War period, Frontier times and Canal Boat era; Pre 1840 Rendezvous will camp all weekend on the Canal banks, north of High St., with a Lantern tour Saturday evening at 8 pm; Fall Craft Show & Farmers Market – Baked goods – Crafts – Garden Produce;  Historic St. Marys Photography Exhibit at Arts Place on Spring St.

Free kids activities – Pumpkin Painting –  Free scroll cut wood figures – Bounce Toys & other games- Historical Exhibits and Demonstrations.             Train Tours around Historical St. Marys   Registration for the “Walk with Nature” and “Road to Fitness” will be in Memorial Park in Downtown St. Marys.  Join us for the “Walk with Nature” & “Fall Festival in the Park” is Sunday, October 21st, noon to 5:00 pm.
