Poppie,

Thanks for the list and you are well on the way to creating your own data book.

Have a great day.

Btw, I enjoyed the article in the paper you posted the link to, thanks for sharing.

Has anyone contacted owner at point 11 on Musgrove Road? The first time I hiked through, I talked to lady in first house. She had no problems with hikers, only loggers. They have a mowed section by second house with fire ring that would be perfect for camp. Also several places in wooded area.  I also talked to a Young man on a 4-wheeler that was very friendly.

This would cut 29 mile stretch into a 14 and 15.

The second area to investigate would be the Tolles and GE property at point s 24 to 25, cutting distance from 26 to 8 and 18 mile stretches. Another spot would be the field with the large blaze.  A blaze that big should indicate that the owner is supportive of the BTA, reducing 26 miles into a 15 and 11 mile trek.

Poppie,

When you posted this originally under another area, I had replied that we are NOT allowed to camp at Fort Hill at all.  The director of the Arc of Appalachia (whom I have asked twice) does not want camping within the boundaries of Fort Hill (even at the old cabin).  There are too many liabilities they worry about.  So, while the BT map even shows a camping symbol, we are not to be pitching a tent there.

Also, the Fort Hill Christian Camp next door, has anyone asked them if we can camp there?

Thanks!

I think the owners of the old campground just to the north of Granny's in Londonderry may allow camping.

Thanks for your response.  Do you know them, or just hiked through?
